If you take off the oval and round inspection covers you can see the primary chain (and clutch) inside.
Please take some pictures of the chain.
I’ll see if I can get those off when I next get a chance

1. Cut old choke cable **** off.
2. Remove dash to check wires and ignition switch condition
3. Repair wire going from battery positive terminal to starter relay
4. Cut throttle cable to finish removing carb and get it soaking
5. Drain oil tank
6. Replace oil hoses one at a time
7. Replace gas hoses
8. get the 4 screws out of front brake master cylinder switch housing to check if wires inside are corroded and will short out
9. Cleaning and more cleaning all the time
10. Charge battery with slow charger
Think I understand Frogs reasoning and what He was going to suggest next after this stuff is done.
Number 9 will always be happening of course
Lizy, You mentioned “I need to get that bike fixed” was said a lot, Was He talking about something in particular?
Like Blues carburetor, wheel bearings, brakes, or just fix everything in general?
Yeah I think that’s all of it so far

He never mentioned anything specific I think he just meant everything in general.

Theres a thread here called Intake Manifold Question. Has great pics, take a look when you have time. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/shove...uestion-2.html
You will see why replacing the rubber boots (rubber bands) are so important.(They dry rot and crack just like old tires do.)

1. Cut old choke cable **** off.
2. Remove dash to check wires and ignition switch condition
3. Repair wire going from battery positive terminal to starter relay
4. DONE
5. Drain oil tank
6. Replace oil hoses one at a time
7. Replace gas hoses
8. get the 4 screws out of front brake master cylinder switch housing to check if wires inside are corroded and will short out
9. Cleaning and more cleaning all the time
10. Charge battery with slow charger

Should I also plan on getting something like this with the whole thing considering how rusted and stuff the existing one seems to be? If it’s the part that attaches by the master cylinder we have yet to be able to even turn the nut on that and it seems to almost be like softened too?

Just so I’m not ordering things a bunch of times separately to avoid several shipping fees lol

Not yet.
Lets get the carb soaking for about two weeks first.
Meanwhile The other stuff on this list can be done, the ones that don't
require spending money.
Also, the paddles for stirring paint are free at Home Dept, and You need a couple
to scrape across the bottom of the oil tank after its drained, like checking for sludge and crap.
After Blue Moon sitting for this many years, there's bound to be lots.

Okay

yeah didn’t get it off yet.

honrstly I just left it bc I was already trying to take the hose off and find small enough cutters for the throttle cable then it didn’t just come off so then I was trying to use a little bit from the impact driver and the vise grip to turn the screws for the clamps on the back to try that way and understandably that didn’t work too well then I got all mad and figured I should just leave it for a bit before I broke something lol

I’ll prob try and get it Saturday

It will slide off Lizy, You already have everything disconnected.
They can be stubborn! Tap it all directions with a hammers wooden handle.
Dont get pissed and smash it Girl..turn on some Pink Floyd while piddling with it
The clamps holding on the intake manifold should take a short Phillips screwdriver is all.
If it would help Ya feel better, take some pics of both sides, and top n bottom this eve and post them,we will make sure for Ya.
