Congratulations Lizy!
Wow Ya made a lot happen all in one day
Looks like this is the first time Blues tanks have been off,and Her wiring is untouched factory
and in great shape.
I think Your Dad finally realizes just how determined You are,and is getting really interested in Blue Moon Himself.
Good job on both so far. Now I understand why Frog is trying to help..Ill join in if that suits You..all the way.
Suggestion, give us a pic of Yalls air compressor, and the end of the air hose, the part You use to put air in tires.
What I'm thinking is it would be best to use a controlled blast of air to help clean under the speedo and ignition switch
rather than spray cans of WD40. Heck even a leaf blower would work. Watch out for brown recluse spiders.
Got Her carburetor soaking yet? Again great job! Time for me to start marking things done on my checklist

Thanks!
We actually used a like blower end thing with the air compressor to try and blow out some a bit already it was a little end with a lever to make the air shoot out
Still haven’t got the carb off yet, my dad didn’t want to take it off until the stuff we took off today was off for some reason but he said “I’ll help you take it off I know how” so we will see.
He also already took the tanks over the the dealer intending to ask if they would/how much it would be to clean them and apparently they said they’d probably be fine just rinsed out and dried good. He also said whoever he talked to said they could rebuild the carb once we get it off for like $100 but I have a feeling that’s not including all the pieces necessary to rebuild it. Still would probably be better than me doing it I guess so I don’t mess it up lol safer that way.
So next is actually get the carb off then figure out how we are gonna get those screws on the brake thing undone and that mirror out

Kerosene is used to rinse out the gas tanks and oil tank, never water.
I wouldn't trust those mouth breathers at the stealership to rebuild Her carb,
they will end up telling You to buy a new one from them, for around 600 bucks. If they can even get one.
We know wd40 don't work at all on Blues corrosion, that liquid wrench is much better I think.
Best and cheapest is that mixed up stuff we already talked about.
Oh, that eBay seller You used, Ive bought from him several times, hes a retired Harley mechanic
that worked on Harley's at a Dealership in Colorado for years, from the late 60s till about 1988 or so.
Tell Him 60 said hello if You get a chance. We call Him MX on another forum. Hscic knows about him also.
In fact, tell Him what Your doing with Blue Moon if You care to, Start a conversation with Him, Ill bet He gives You great prices on stuff and advise.
Hes on facebook to I think.Hes been collecting for years, and does what we do for fun.
Small world aint it

Looks like maybe a tiny bit of rust on one side
But the other looks fine
Had to take the whole deal off to get the carb off
Yeah we will see what they say I guess. He did say he might have to take it to the guys house so maybe he knows the guy or something ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Since technically it is his thing I can’t tell him not to take it lol
looking for something to cover the holes real quick

Not rust, its New Mexico dust..got in there because one side of the manifold rubber seal/boot was just
starting to leak. How about some pics of Her intake manifold? close up shots of the sides that was on Her heads?
Yeah it is pretty neat Lizy.
He has over 50 of these Harley's, and like most of us,is a total A-hole to stupid folks...lol But is a trustworthy person.
He likes the Ironheads to go fast, that's how we know about Him.
