Been running my 65 Pan with factory oil line set up since 1970 and never had a problem. Running my 84 FLH and 78 FXE the same and never had a problem with either.

100s in and out of my shop are still original in the oil pulled back into the engine - but periodically are washed out and flushed clean and the oil change interval is not once every decade

This is invaluable for someone like me who is dealing with a show bike being prepaired to be ridden and never having delt with seaaling up a primary before.

All the best to you!

Plus one for running the stock Primary oil line setup, my 1978 FXS has been that way since new in 77 when I bought it. When I did the lower end in 2003 just because I was worried about excessive mileage every bearing and shaft looked like new and was within spec.

[QUOTE=johnjzjz;18327728]well lets get this correct - the three lines for an oem original system

you can plug off the two rear 1/8 pipe thread fitting holes with plugs - then the feed line in the picture becomes a vent for the primary its self

Does the primary need a vent? Can it vent along the clutch push rod to the trans?

Has the clutch nut seal been used on all years of shovels?

knuckle early pans used a cork seal with a spring to keep the oil from escaping - as I remember my 1926 also had a cork
