Default Points and electric start.... change to kick only?

I read in a previous post the question of why would anyone have points and an electric ignition. Should this bike have one or the other only? Should I change it to kick only? Noob here.

Your Harley has either a points and condenser system or a electronic ignition system.
Not both. Look at the timing cover, is it rivets or screws holding it on?
You can add a kicker, to start it if/when the battery is low.
Get a factory service manual and parts book. Those are a must have.

Add a kicker if you want one but leave the starter system alone you'll be happier. Far as the ignition system you have to open the cover and see whats in there first.

Get it running and ride it for a bit before u buy anything. Its been established that the bike is something that was built.
So get it up and running decide if motor and trans are anygood.
how it rides. Asking whats it got in it is wasted time. Nobody can tell u how the guy built it.
now getter done..... anything is possible now that its basically a custom bike.

54 here, love the kick only shovel, you know it's tuned right!
it had points when I bought it, I had too much trouble bending over to set the points.
