Production numbers
Ran into and ole timer last night while enjoying my ole iron( i am 65 so hes a bunch oler) He said my 82 flhs wasnt a big seller ...like 700-900 produced and lots were changed at the dealer ...running boards ,brake pedal and exhaust. Never been a restorer of these to any extent . So what guides do the guys doing correct restoration use? Probably never do a correct...well you never know....I know this bike is no rare animal but if i need to look up others it would be nice... Interesting ole timer said he ran the cannonball some years back on and indian ....
I know this is the only place I trust the knowledge thats shared... |
apart from the S&S super E and air cleaner , i believe mine to be close in this form pictured..... iam probably wrong but
https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...03e1752676.jpg .when i gave it its 5000 mile service it still had the chalk marks on the underside of the tanks, It still has the factory clips on the oil lines as well |
Call the HD Museum and have them do a VIN # search for your bike. Then can tell you everything they have on your bike including date of birth, dealership sent to etc. During that conversation, see if they have total production #'s for your year. I would guess from '82 they got them.

According to the chart in "The Legend of Harley Davidson", there were 1,491 FLH-80 made in 1982. It doesn't show any numbers for the individual models, like the S or P.

They blew the hell out the collectible value when they started replacing everything and repainted it. Owner is smoking dope even for OZ prices.
