Default 1974 FLH Colours

I am starting a full rebuild on my 1974 FLH, I have not made up my mind to what colour I want to paint the tanks and fenders but I want to keep it as a stock HD colour for that year. Does anyone have a colour chat or any info for this year?

Search the internet.... you'll find what you are looking for. If not the color chart, many oics of original 1974 models.

Call Harley Cares (customer service) located on Juneau Ave: 800 258 2464.

Give them your VIN and they'll tell you the original color and what colors were available that year. They'll also tell you when it was built and what dealer first sold it.

The 73-80 records are on Microfiche, but 82-up is available to them electronically, so easier to get.

Hi John, I am in Australia, I am trying to get a color chip or code so I can get a local paint supplier to mix some paint. Color rite over here don't show any early HD colors but I will call them and see if they can get any info for me.

Hi Joe, thanks for that information I will try and contact them and see what info they have. I am about to start restoring an 83 FLH and any info on these bikes make the restoration easier.

the color names is all I can help with

black and white bags - white on white - sunburst blue - burgundy and turquoise chasing pictures is the only way BUT - in those days the colors did not come out the way they look in person usually much better live

This is John Peirce's website, he has everything you need, just as John noted it will be expensive:

Lump,
Couldn't remember the website but I found it looking for something else. Hope this helps. I had a '68 painted and took the picture to the painter and he matched it pretty well.
