ignition module test
I have a 1976 FLH with a single fire HI-4 module and a DynaS coil. I know this is the problem area because the bike just quits with no warning. No sputter, acts just ike I hi the kill switch. Does anyone have a test procedure for the module?
Thanks in advance-

RE: ignition module test
Ign modues are usually not possible to test........... since the problems are usually intermittent. You can test everything around it.and if everything else checks out, replace the module.
to test the coil you could make a nifty little thing that i use all the time.
take two lengths of wire, a condenser, and 2 alligator clips. attach the two wires to one alligator clip, and the second alligator clip to the other end of one wire.
the length of wire with the clips at both ends needs to be cut, connect the condenser in line of that wire.
you now have, basically, a removable set of points.
disconnect the wires from the bottom of the coil, and attach the double wire clip there and the single wire clip to any ground. turn the ign on and arc the bare wire to the single wire clip and the plugs should spark.
