RE: will a dual fire coil run a single fire ignition
I think a better question, to you, would be why? The HI-4 system is designed to fire each cyl. by itself. The other system fires both cyl. each time either cyl. should fire. To answer your question-
I am not sure if putting the 2 'signal' wires togetheron a standard coil would not harm the HI-4.
The best I can do is give you Crane's tech line # 904-258-6174
RE: will a dual fire coil run a single fire ignition
There may also be a switch to change the mode of the module to dual fire.
the Mallory I am using has this capability.
The single fire coils are expensive, cost me about a hundred dollars. Ouch!
RE: will a dual fire coil run a single fire ignition
Bummer! {not being able to change modes}
Maybe you could find someone to sell the coil you have and get the correct one for your bike?
I would guess that you are going to need the single fire coil for the system to work.
