Default N/O Idiot Lights 78 FXE

I am replacing the neutral & oil lights on the 78. There are two wires for each and both are black. Other than ensuring that they are positioned correctly in the plastic housing, does it matter which black wire goes in the top row and which goes in the bottom row.

Maybe I don't understand the question...
There should be one wire only from the Neutral sender, as well as the Oil sender... they send a Ground to the Indicator, when there is No Oil pressure and when in neutral.. (ground applied= indicator On) ... the indicator itself, Must be wired with 12v Applied with key-on. Opposite the other indicators. Which use 12v applied as an indicator on...
Or... again... I don't quite get the question.

He's talking about how the wires enter the big rubber plug behind the headlight. As John said, it doesn't matter, as long as the oil goes to oil and neut to neut.

Thanks all. That was my thinking but wanted to make sure.

Racepres, there are two wires each to oil sender and neutral light inidicators on these; bottom row of the pin connectors goes to the hot side.

Super Glidester...they have a specific layout on the female side to align with the pins on the male side, so as long as I follow the parts diagram, I'll be good to go (so yeah, ya don't want to insert them in the wrong spot)
