1980 5 speed
is the tranny in the 1980 flt a 4 speed case with 5 speed gears in it. when looking for parts for 1980 flt, everything is for a 4 speed for that year. did harley use that tranny for more than one year. http://www.cas4.com/Wide-Tire/Shovel...80-1980-FX.htm looking to do something like this , will it work with a 5 speed
thanks |
Nope 1980 FLT is the first of the 5 speed tranys from HD Totally different from the 4 speeds No you can't do this set up Your FLT is rubber mounted engine/trans are bolted together then mounted between a front rubber mount to the frame and the rear clev block rear swingarm
is their anyway to put a larger back tire on a flt
Do you still have the enclosed rear chain drive ? A 140 might fit ?
ya ,the enclosed chain is still their. I have no prob in removing it . if the tins and everything were in better shape , i would have no problem keeping it stock. But its been through a few people and it has seen beter days. runs great but looks like hell
