Default shovelhead pushrod cover leak

My shovel started leaking alot of oil from front bottom pushrod cover. Changed cork gasket, still leaks bad. Any ideas why?

I know this may sound simplistic, but pop the cover and make sure you don't have a second ring sitting down there. I've done it and so has a few other people. Otherwise, pitch the whole tube and replace it.

Only one ring. I will try replacing the tube. I was wondering if crankcase pressure would cause this. Maybe a clogged breather?

A clogged breather is easy to check. Is there air huffing out of the breather tube when the bike is running? If so, it's not clogged. Have you had the lifter block out? If so, did you put the hole in the lifter roller to the center? Otherwise, pitch the tube.

old school fix for leaky pushrods on shovels............... the lifter block has a Y shaped drain hole..... the update is to slightly enlarge the holes and make them an X shaped. allows the oil in the pushrod tube to drain twice as fast, therefore leaving less oil in that area to leak.

One other thing to check for is the upper engine mount that ties your jugs to the frame, this happen to me once and for the life of me could'nt figure it out why I was leaking at the pushrods till I notice the engine mount was broken, after I replaced it no more leaks.
