Default 1977 Harley Davidson Confederate Edition tribute bike almost done

Bike almost done, picked up the tins from body shop, looking to finish just bits and pieces. The kicker was reinstalled and works well, aftermarket 2-1 pipe looks killer and clears the kicker. What do you think about the 1977 Superglide seat? Do you think it matches the bike well??

Wat it was.......

What it becomes slowly..........Who knows, it may be a Confederate edition after all.......Gotta check the vin with MoCo

The MoCo will probably deny they ever built one. They got all sorts of flak when it came out. Why they listen to a segment of the population that doesn't ride is a mystery.

Wow, that is definitely coming along nicely. Just curious, where do you go to find your original decals?

I have a friend that bought a new FX from Lentners in 1977. Mouse painted over the tins with a Molly Hatchet style paint job, some mild Don Hotop customizing, and a stroker motor. When he passed away another friend bought it and rides it occasionally. He kicks around restoring it every once in a while. I have to ask why you used fatbob tanks instead of the original turtle tank?

Originally I was supposed to swap the split tanks for the turtle but that would require to change all the wiring and I did not feel well doing that job.....nevertheless it is what it is......

I had the decals made by my decal shop from scratch. They are high quality reproductions that can be used under or over the clear coat. I usually clear coat the decals....looks way cool.

This bike starts looking sick! I love the drag bars, "Ice Blue Metallic" paint job and the exhaust, especially the exhaust. Although pipes are an aftermarket still look awesome on the bike. Whoever gets the bike at the end will be the most bothered person at any HD meet or rally and may be the most popular....too.....lol!

Just waiting for the seat. Took it out for a test ride and bike sounds killer and rides like bat out of hell. Very pleased with the results!!
