Cool 77 shovelhead - Rebuilt silenoid, but now won't engage

I just got done putting a rebuild kit on my solenoid, but now my bike won't start. It spins, but does not engage? Wires crossed maybe or what else should I look at. The plunger maybe not hitting right? Idiot lights come on, etc. Bike engaged prior to the rebuild kit, found a 'fryed' wire so that is reason for rebuild. Put all new connectors on wiring tightly, new ignition switch, plug wires, but...??
Anyone out there?? Maybe not lined up right? Just don't get it!

Check you connections. The battery lead is to the long terminal. Usually on top. Is your battery fully charged?
