How to set up a 4 speed totary top trans for a foot clutch?

I need some ideas as to how best set up a foot clutch. I've done it in the past by just cutting the sheath off of my clutch cable and attaching the cable to the pedal but I know there has to be a better way. I've searched all over the internet and haven't had much luck. I'm waiting on Fabricator Kevin to get back in town to discuss it with him but would like to hear how you guys have gone about it.

its very easy actually - disconect the rod from the pedel - adjust the clutch hub center screw till the clutch arm goes to the rear back off the screw about 1/2 turn out lock the nut in place dont let the screw turn and adjust the rod to fit - you done unless something else if wrong like the chain spacing and the hub is moving out when you apply the clutch pedel

I think you missed my question. I am converting from a clutch on my bars to a foot clutch. I do not currently have a foot clutch and I'm looking to see how others did it. No rod,.

if you dont have a tank shift you will have two pedels on one side or a right foot clutch rear brake on the left bar

Reason i missed the question

I have a police shifter that mounts to the frame down tube, that's the easy part. That's why I didn't mention it. This isn't my first rodeo so please don't treat me like a twin cam rider :)

I did it with a ratchet top. V-twin sells a smooth shift gate. You would need a custom rod to go from the police shift to the shift lever of the transmission. The rocker pedal for an aluminium primary is slightly different than the one for the pan head. The later one the rod attaches to the back side the pivot rather then to the pedal itself. The smooth shift gate allows you to slap the shifter forward or back to change gears, it then returns to center. If you have the police frame mount you may have to take the flat spring off to make it function.

The clutch release lever would have to be fabricated. The one used for the ratchet top conversion or jockey top aluminum primary is different then the stock foot shift version. You may be able to adapt one. Or use it for a model for the custom one. The lever has the slot for the shift rod rather than for a cable.
