Cause a lot of parts aren't made for it and you kinda have to mod things to make them fit.

So nothing but buffeting for me.

Im 6'4. Scooped up this Jd fairing from classifieds to try it out. I'm commuting 3 hours each way on the weekends and would like some less fatigue while riding tank to tank

so it a 16" shield. Went to ho e depot and made my iwn anti buffeting kit. Nothing worked. Cut screen down to 14". Then 11". Then 9". Things improve but 70+ I get a lot of side slap causing buffeting

the only other thing is to go 18" shield but I think they look giant and out of proportion. Well at least in pictures.

Many one rocking a 18" shield and have a ride report

heres a pic of today's shenanigans. I tried every adjustment possible testing the last 3 hours and nothing worked. Am I just to big for a fairing bike??

Giant wind screen for a giant man.

Here's the latest picture of my bike. Black trackers, and VH Comp 2-1. Just got the Valholl defender handguards on, and cracked a mirror the next day.

Yes.

I feel your pain, I'm 6'6" and have the same issues. Riding any type of bike with a fairing or tall windshield is a buffeting nightmare. Maybe something small like the lowrider s fairing or maybe the ms club fairing might work??

Well I do have a narrow ness set up I'm using and get no buffeting. But it would be nice to go 3-4 hours and have less fatigue

im on the fence for the 18". I don't want to blow any more money on something that won't work

anyone have pics of 18" screen

For all you tall guys, have you checked to see if the buffeting isnt coming from below the fairing? Maybe need to displace the low pressure area behind the screen. Although that might mess up the club style looks. Just a thought.

You need to find out where the dirty air/turbulence is coming from; and if its exacerbated by your helmet. Check how your helmet reacts with the visor up, down and also removed.

It sounds low tech, but get a handful of lengths of twine and tie them to various spots on the bars, trees, and fairing. Ride around and see which of those strings dance crazy and which ones are steady in the stream.

Also remember that the height of the shield is only part of the adjustment for the wind to carry over you. You can tilt the entire fairing forward and tilt the shield as well.

Just my opinion and things I've gone through getting my set-up dialed in. And of course I don't have the height issue you have, but I ride with people your size and their fairings work.

Looking at your pics, it looks like you could raise the fairing up a smudge and get the gap open around the headlight a little. That will help with a better air stream, much like the shield spacer kit.

great andvice right there. I am 6' 6" almost 6' 7". I have a Conleys 16" two piece Tsport fairing. I used to have a little bit of buffeting above 70mph if there was a crosswind. I had a Sundowner touring seat and it sat me up higher. I replaced that seat with a custom C&C seat that moved me down about 2" and back some and now I don't have any!! Check your seat height and also your helmet. With my helmet I don't get any buffeting at all but if I use other helmets I did. I can run 80+mph all day with visor up with one hand on the throttle and feel super stable and not being tossed around except if I'm right behind a semi truck. I vary rarely ever put my visor down now.
