Rushmore riders... Are you happy ? Any regrets ? 103 TwinCam to M8?

What Firenailer said.
I traded in my 16 Road King on a 17 Ultra Limited. First things I noticed:
1. Much smoother engine with more low end torque that stays with it up through the RPMs and gears
2. Suspension is light years ahead of the RK. Especially the forks.
3. Cooler running.
4. Engine not as "Clattery" as the twin cam, although I liked the rattle & bang of the 103.
5. Brakes. Whomever designed the linked braking system on my Road King should have been shot. Too damn snatchy. The new braking system is much smoother and responds like it should.
That's just my first impressions. 1200 miles on it so far and not looking back.

I had a 2015 RK, wife wanted me to get an Ultra because she liked that seat and tour pak backrest better. Test drove both a 2016 and a 2017. I did not notice that big of a difference between my RK 103, w a full stage one, and the M8. I decided to go with the 2016 as I was able to get a great deal on it and swapped over all of the add-ons I had put on my RK. I am digging the Ultra Limited now.

All those that are happy with the new M8 or Honda Davidson, congrats ride what you like, as for me I Just traded my 16 trike and picked up a 15 CVO RG Ultra, and love it when my dentures are rattling at a stop light, glasses fallen off my face and the screws In my hip replacement are coming loose, now your on a Harley and I wouldn't have It any other way.
IMO the M8 was designed to lure some of the customers from the competition, they built a quieter smoother non rattling bike for metric riders that always wanted a Harley.

The MoCo might have shot itself in the foot when it finally got the Twin Cams right and flooded the market with the Rushmores, then immediately discontinued it and introduced a new design with its own new set of issues and problems.
Sounds like business as usual at the ol' MoCo, to me. Glad I got exactly what I wanted, when I wanted it. No M8 in my future.
