Default GPS camera for road trip?

Contemplating a 12,000 mile road trip across the country. I want to be able to take photos and at the end of the trip document where the pic is from. Know my memory will fail and I will not remember the location for each pic.

Anyone have any experience with how to solve this problem?

I think most newer phone cameras allow geotagging (shows where you took the photo). All iPhones with IOS7 and later will have this feature.

For an iPhone, you need location services turned on. It's in the Privacy in the Settings app. Go to Location Services and turn it on (if it isn't already) and scroll down to Camera and turn it on.

The Photos app will even show your photos on a map.

Your phone is already set up for this. Here it is in my phone.

These are some of the awesome things I've that smartphones allow us to do. Contrary to what the senior citizen codgers insist, it's not all texting and video games. 😁

Androids also provide the same feature. Depending on the version, it can be as simple as opening the camera app, go to settings, and turn on Location.

Curious what route you're contemplating, and how many weeks you're anticipating.

You always have to go into the phone's camera settings and enable the feature. Otherwise, there would be some serious privacy and security concerns.

Buck 05 - Kansas City to Key West to Madawaska to Blaine to San Ysidro to home. The four corners tour but not going to try for 21 days. I want to stop and smell the roses along the way. Thinking 40-45 days.

Thanks for the info on my phone. I am aware that I can do these things on my phone but was looking for a camera to do this. Iphone photography is somewhat limited. Want to have more options to take better photos. Once in a lifetime trip and want to have a great photo record of my travels.

Google is constantly asking me to change my location settings. Don't they gather enough information already?
