I'm just taking a guess here but maybe the casing around your clutch cable is cracked and oil is running down inside the cable and seaping out. Can you slide that cloth liner towards the clutch housing and see if the cable is damaged?
there is a rubber gasket that goes around the cable that threads in... remove the cable and replace the gasket... also it could be a leaky oil filter flowing down and pooling there... when you ahve the cable off lube it

You could be right the cable being cracked, abi....I think I would be best to take off the cable and check it out and replace the o-ring as well.

Joe,
I checked the oil filter....bottom of all engine sections are clean, dry and oil-free.
I guess you're refering to this O-ring that goes around the cable at the threaded end?

Changed the clutch cable this weekend and found out that the cable fitting had loosened from the cover. This caused oil sweating out and collecting at the lowest point of the clutch cable.....
Rene, a little trick to keep the new one from leaking...
When you screw the cable in, just run it up finger tight. Then put a wrench on it and give it a nudge. If you try to crank on it, you'll distort the o-ring and it will leak.
