Tar and bug remover should do the trick.

 

For tough spots, you can flatten the mouth of a piece of .30 caliber brass to use as a scraper. I like .30-06 best.

 

Yep. Low heat (blue can). Let set 15-20 minutes, wipe off, repeat.

 

You don't have to really do anything, I used my thumbnail & basically removed the "hatch" pattern debris from the pipe. as far as frog toggs go - they might be good for hiking or out door events during rain, but I learned my lesson with them, spend the money & get HD`s rain gear - its worth it....!

 

Frogtogs makes a patch that will not melt on hot exhaust. I've had them for years and I like them. As far as the exhaust goes you've got a lot of good answers.
