Default Adventures with the “Scorpios”

March 12, 2019.

This afternoon I took a short walk down to the end of our street and to the shore of Lake Huron.
I must say from the pictures that I am posting that, unfortunately, warmer weather and the riding season are still a ways off.
The Harley is ready whenever the time comes!

Cheers, Terry

The shore of Lake Huron looking west. And yes, those are snow and ice mounds on the shoreline!

Another showing the Bluewater Bridges in the distance that join Canada to the USA.

Default Adventures with the “Scorpios”

April 02, 2019.

We spent the day today trying to chase away the winter blues with a trip in the truck out of town and south to “Thunder Road Harley Davidson” in Windsor Ontario.
It is about a 2 hour drive and our friends Deb & Paul joined Suzie and I for the drive.
Our first visit to Thunder Road was very enjoyable. A beautiful large dealership with plenty of inventory, and a very courteous and helpful staff.
Of course, cant make it out of a dealership without making some purchases. It took the blahs away for today, and hopefully with the temperatures rising this weekend we may get out for that long awaited first ride.

After our Harley visit we ventured to a recommended restaurant by Stacey at the dealership. The placed was called “Joe Schmoes Eats & Drinks and we highly recommend it! Thanks Stacey!
A burger and a couple of beers and we were on our way back home.
A truly enjoyable day!

Cheers, Terry

Default Adventures with the “Scorpios”

May 16, 2019.

Looks like finally we may get some warmer weather here in the cold Canadian north.
Yesterday hit 20C (68F) and nice sunshine.
Managed to get the Harley all washed and waxed up for the riding season.
Also, did a load check on the battery. Still going strong after 4 years (fingers crossed)

Trips planned so more to come soon!

Cheers, Terry

Back yard all ready for summer gatherings and campfires.

Hanging out in the man cave for the afternoon.

Harley all cleaned up and waxed up ready to roll!

Default Adventures with the “Scorpios”

June 2, 2019.

Finally today we woke up to some good riding weather!
I will say a little bit cool at 59F but we were up for the challenge. So, we rode off this morning with our good riding friends Katie & George.
We headed to an area not far from us called “Rock Glen”. It is tourist spot with camping, a picnic area, and a waterfall in a gorge area.
Normally this waterfall is a trickle, but with all the rain we’ve had lately it has truly become a gushing beautiful sight.
Please enjoy the photos. I will follow up with some other pictures in another thread from our destination after our visit to the waterfall.
Great day! We rode over 200 miles!

Cheers, Terry

Back to the Harleys for the next leg of our Sunday adventure.

Default Adventures with the “Scorpios”

June 2, 2019 (Part 2)

After visiting the waterfall at Rock Glen, we continued our ride north up to a town on Highway 4 called Blyth, Ontario.
There are a couple of interesting places to visit here.
One is the “Old Mill” where bikers can purchase leathers, riding boots & suede, etc. We opted out of stopping here this trip, but chose to go to a new venue called the “Cow Bell”.
It is a new craft brewery offering many different kinds of craft beer and a restaurant located within the brewery.
Now, many will ask and I’m expecting it.
Why would Terry, the Bud Light man, visit and even attempt to drink craft beer?
I persevered and choked one down folks along with a nice burger lunch. No party pooper for this guy!! Lol
And also, a happy wife!

Enjoy the pics!
Our summer adventures are just beginning.

Cheers, Terry

Default Adventures with the “Scorpios”

June 5, 2019.

So, with the weather being uncooperative again to start the week, Suzie and I decided on Monday to hop into her 370Z and make a quick overnight trip to Niagara Falls and the wineries in that area.
This is one of Suzie’s favourite places to visit and we do this trip usually twice a year. Next time hopefully it will be a Harley trip!
We stayed at the Falls, went out for a nice dinner, and then made a donation to the Fallsview casino on Monday evening lol.
Yesterday we visited a few wineries and took a trip down the Niagara gorge to beautiful Niagara on the Lake.
Then we headed for the 3-1/2 trip for home.
This is an awesome area of Ontario for anyone visiting. We highly suggest it to be on your to-do list!
Enjoy!

Cheers, Terry

View from our room at the Falls with the rainbow caused from the mist off the Horseshoe Falls.

Another view from the Incline Railway platform.

The “Incline Railway” that takes patrons down to the falls.

The “Floral Clock” at one of the stops along the Gorge and the Niagara Parkway.

A stop at the “Angel Inn” at Niagara on the Lake. Great food and beer here at this location. We suggest it if you visit here!

And of course a stop at a winery. This one is called “The Lakeview”. And yes folks, thats a 3 litre bottle of wine!

Default Adventures with the “Scorpios”

June 9, 2019.

Beautiful weather here the last few days, so we got out on the Harley yesterday for few hours of enjoyable riding with our friends Paul & Deb.
We ran up the lakeshore and stopped and visited a friend of Pauls. His friend Dave is also an avid Harley rider.
Dave and his friend have a riding group called the “The Wanders RC” and they have invited us to join their group. Should be a lot of fun as between Paul and I we know quite a few in their group.
After visiting Dave we continued upon the lake shore to a small beach area on Lake Huron called “Ipperwash”. There we went to a newly renovated restaurant called the “Ipperwash Beach Club”.
Food was good and the beer was cold, and we will make another stop here again on a future ride.
Enjoy the pics. As always more to come.

Cheers, Terry

Daves place about 15 miles north of Sarnia up the Lakeshore.

Saddling up from Daves to ride further north.

Just up the road from here is a short walk to the beach on Lake Huron.

Ready to head out from here and home for the day.

Default Adventures with the “Scorpios”

June 10, 2019.

Another rainy Monday yesterday. It finally quit around 3 in the afternoon.
Next two days look good, nothing but sunshine and warm temps.
Ventured out to the “man cave” and took some photos of our new gnome Suzie picked up while we were at Claires Harley Davidson in Niagara Falls.
Here’s hoping for some good riding weather in the near future!

Cheers, Terry

Default Adventures with the “Scorpios”

June 19, 2019.

A beautiful sunny day here yesterday with temperatures in the mid to high 70’s.
We decided to head out for a ride with our riding friends Paul & Deb. Destination was a farm market store just outside of St. Thomas Ontario.
Unknown to us when we arrived we realized the market had changed hands, and they were in the process of renovating prior to re-opening. So with that we headed into St. Thomas to a Tai restaurant that Suzie had searched out, and was recommended by some ladies we met in the Azores that were from London, Ontario.
We get there and the restaurant is closed. We are batting two for two! Grrrrrrrrrrrr!
We ended up walking a few blocks and had some lunch at a place called “Legends”.
A great day for a ride and we logged about 160 miles. Come on Summer!

Cheers, Terry

Packing up ready to leave from our place.

Parked on the Main Street in downtown St. Thomas, Ontario.

“Legends” restaurant on the Main Street. Good food and cold beer. What else do riders need?

Downtown St. Thomas. This city has virtually become somewhat of a ghost town since the big Ford factory closed at Talbotville just up the road. Very sad for the thousands that lost their jobs and the economy of this town.

Default Adventures with the “Scorpios”

June 24, 2019.

Yesterday was Sunday and the weekend! A perfectly beautiful day to ride.
So, off we went on a journey north up Lake Huron to one of our favourite spots, Bayfield, Ontario.
We were 3 bikes and took the long route and back roads on the hour and a half run.
Once in Bayfield we met up with some fellow riders from the “Wanderers RC”. We had some lunch at the Albion Hotel (a favourite of bikers to frequent). Excellent food here and they also have a designated “Bike Night” every Tuesday.
After some conversation and laughs, we all (8 bikes) headed back down the lake, through Grand Bend, and then to Dave and Jennys of the “Wanders” log cabin home.
Some refreshments and a visit, then back on the Harleys and headed for home in Sarnia.
An truly enjoyable and excellent day of riding.
More adventures on schedule. Stay tuned!

Cheers, Terry
