The other mod that I want to do, in memory of my father, is to modify this cover and install a Marines coin on it...
The cover that comes with the Slim S is concave so the coin would not stick well there... I happen to have one that is flat. I will paint the border black, leave just the trim around the coin polished/unpainted.

Thank you guys. Still waiting for the parts that came with the deal. Dealer did not have everything in stock... some parts will take two-three weeks to arrive.
On the Marines coin. Ended up using some two-part epoxy putty adhesive and installing it on the stock cover.

The only thing that I would like to improve is the tag holder... On the 48 I could close it. Great when parking the bike in the garage... this one will not stay close... I will look for alternatives since this will really not work for me like it did with the 48...
Exhaust, seems like I will stick with the stock one for awhile. Have not found anything that looks great with this bike (imho of course). Stock it is...even if it is very quiet...

Did you know you can turn your plate vertical just by removing half of the plate section and turning it on it's fastener? It saves a lot of space.
I personally like the look of the stock exhaust. The Rush slip-ons look just like stock, except I chose Boloney Cut instead of slash down. The sound with 2.25" baffles is really deep and booming. At first I thought they were too loud, but I heard the bike pass by when the dealer did the 1000 mile service. It's not as loud as I thought, but the boom is what the Japanese call Kodo (Feeling it in your chest like a heartbeat, or feeling it in your soul. Also the name of their big drums for the same reason.)
