I am getting ready to sell my 2013 FLTRX (14,000 miles) and I have some questions if anyone would care to share your thoughts.

I have done a lot of work to it, including audio, tourpak, tallboy seat, passenger back rest, powder coating, Factory 47 bars, and Stage IV engine work. Here are my questions...

1. I know I put much more into in than I can sell it for, but is there a value ground rule on accessories and upgrades? In other words, are the upgrades worth 30%, 40% or 50% (etc) of what I paid for them?

2. Would you let someone test ride your 103HP - 117Tq Harley?

 

As far as a hard fast rule for used part are about 50% (when selling second hand parts) but Harley parts seem to get more. But when they are still on your ride it boils down to What some is willing pay. If you find someone who loves your setup, and can appreciate the time & $$$ gone in to it you might get more. As for test drives... Full payment in cash in YOUR hand... before any test drive.

 

I like the idea of cash in hand to let someone test ride. Hadn't thought of that.
