Default lost fob...forgot PIN....RRRRRRR!

I have a 2001 Heritage with factory security system...the FOB is a button type. My problem is that I've lost my FOB and have forgotten my PIN.
The Dealer told me that my only choice was to have the bike hauled there and they would have to replace the entire system..... Anyone have a suggestion as to how I can get the alarm system disarmed....removed....eliminated!!!!

Welcome from the central coast of California

Not much help here but.....................

You need to put your thinking cap on and start remembering where you left your Fob or remember that security #

How long have you had the bike?

Good luck

I've had it for 10 years....which is probably when I saw the PIN number the last time....lol. I moved into an apartment a year ago and had to start using the alarm...

I'm not sure what happened to the FOB, it broke off of the ring within the last week....hoping it might be in my truck.....guess I'm screwed if its not....

This is why I like my 77 Shovelhead better.....no frills!

Unfortunately you're pretty much screwed unless you find the fob or remember the PIN. Sorry.

Once you get it reset, suggest making the pin the last 5 of your VIN number. It's easy to remember since it's stamped on your frame.

Did you change the pin when you bought the bike or is it still the factory number?

Most riders don't bother changing the pin that's why I'm asking. If it's factory someone on the forum should be able to assist you.

I can look later and see what the factory pin was for my bike not sure that will help you or not.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

To everyone that rides...

Check your owners manual. The instructions are to write your PIN down in there. Maybe you did it and just don't remember.

Lost mine around 7 years ago somewhere in the house, have never found it. However when I bought the bike I got given to 2 fobs and keys, surprised you didn't get the same, not that I ever use the alarm, they're more trouble than there worth...especially if you loose the fob.

I got two fobs also. I keep the spare in my gun safe so if I ever lose the primary I know exactly where to find the spare. Have also written down my PIN in the owners manual and on the wallet card I keep with me.

try 00000 or 11111

Or, call the original dealer if they still exist, they may have been using the same preset code for years. Locally our dealers use 11111
