New bike feeling kinda gone
I'm just curious to see when (or if) people began to lose the "newness" of their bike. I'm 1 month away from my purchase 2yrs ago of a brand new 2015 FLHXS, and since then I put on 28,800 miles, and hoping to reach 30,000 next month at the two-year mark.
I walked into a dealer yesterday and it was the first time I felt that my bike was not new anymore. Wasn't that big of a deal, but I started to compare against the new 2017 M8 models. I also started to think about the mods that I want to continue to do and was it really worth it. How much more money am I going to sink into this? Is my engine going to start showing signs of wear? How much more is my bike going to depreciate? Etc...
This is not that big of a deal, I was just curious to know others who may have had that same thought process. Otherwise, I'll ride it til that engine blows up, then put in a new bigger better one. America!

About in the same boat as you. My 2 year mark is June and I'm at 20K. I am more tired of my color than anything. Posted yesterday about wanted to trade on a new 16 RGU because it's the color I want. Decided against it for a bevy of reasons.....mainly because the if I trade up, I want to truly trade up and the M8 motor alone doesn't do it for me. I'm waiting really until there are some real suspension upgrades and a new frame. Figure that will happen by 2019.
OP.......30K on a twin cam is nothing. You've got a good 70K left in it. Best money spent is no payments (if/when you get there). Trading/buying new is rarely ever financially sound.

I'm coming up on the two year mark on my bike and I still love the way it looks and rides. As a matter of fact I decided to buy a 5 year extended warranty for the first time a few weeks ago. I'm 66 years old and don't know if I will buy another bike but if I do I can transfer the warranty to the new bike.
