Default What is your #1 fear while on your bike?

Beside getting your passenger hurt or worse, what potential safety concern carries the most weight for you? I know concerns vary, depending on where you are riding, such as in heavy traffic, deer country, weather, etc...
But which concern tops them all for you? I am pretty vigilant, and can avoid most situations, but what I fear most is a distracted cager plowing over me from behind while stopped. I'm always looking behind me for that potential, but I doubt I'd have the time to dump the bike and run by the time I realized that someone was about to morph me into a large bug on their grill or windshield. I suppose I could gun it and get hit by someone else in the intersection. What say you? Any tips?

Best thing you can do for a possible rear end job is keep some distance from the car in front of you at a light or stop sign in case you get hit.

Other riders who don't ride safe and obey the rules of the road. Especially the ones who feel they have to pass every other thing on 2 wheels.

I like a lot of attention coming to a stop........more lights on back the better.......flash the brake lights quite a bit so the guy behind me knows whats going on and keeping in eye on HIM......and keep space for me in front.
WAs in a cage in '95 and got rear ended at a light by a F250 doing 60+........he fell asleep in the middle of the day....saw him coming...
..still have nightmares about it.......I'd never live through it if I was on a bike.....

Up here, deer are a real concern. I've never hit one but have come close a couple of times.
