Default Blowing a fuse with the cruise?

Went to the Dragon this weekend. While there I ran into a problem. Was driving down the road hit the cruise button on the handle bard by the throttle and the bike died. Pulled over found Ignition fuse was blown (15 amp). Put a new fuse in worked well. Later hit the cruise and the fuse was blown again. Well now I am home and want to find out what caused it? Has anybody else had this problem. All other switches on the right side function correctly. Thanks

You may have a pinched wire. Eventually it wore through the covering and has grounded. Remove your unit and take a good look at the wires. If not under the handlebar, then short is elsewhere.

Yep, short to ground somewhere. Do you have aftermarket bars?

Stock bars. I think I found the problem. I took apart the throttle side switch holder. Checked everything. I think the wiring was pulled too tight which caused a pinch. I trailered my bike a few weeks ago. At that time I put the power straps on the bottom of the handle bars. I always put the strap between the wires and bar not over as not to pinch it. When I did that I had to spread the wires from the bar first making it too tight at the end. I am guessing. Just took it for a ride and no issues. Thanks for the advise.

Now that you've solved that issue you need to buy a pair of the chrome tie-down hooks that mount on the side of the front forks.
H-D and Kuryakyn makes them and they're worth the bucks if you frequently trailer your bike or use a lift in your garage.

Beautiful day. Took to bike out had it at 60 MPH. Hit the cruise set switch. And there she blows. Back under the hood I go.

Can't find any rubbed wires. Is there a relay for the cruise control?
