Default Tar snake ever take you down?

Took a run today, on hiway 46, to Nashville, IN. Small tourist trap but has several leather shops geared for bikers. Any how, the road was covered with fresh tar snakes all over the place. It is a curvy, hilly road, through a forest, the fun kind, except for the snakes. When leaning into curves at 50- 60 MPH and hitting a patch of snakes, the front end would wiggle enough to pucker my butt pretty tight. Fortunately I didn't go down. Just curious if tar snakes have actually taken someone down?

Ya know....I've been riding for years.....and have heard a **** load about the tar snakes.......I've also heard it has a lot to do with what tires you have......I've never really had much of a problem with them with any tire except maybe the Dunlop Harley tires....they're a pretty hard compound.......been riding ME880's and now the ME888
's and dont feel it at all in any temp!
Maybe not riding hard enough.........

I have the oem dunlops and have not had a problem with them, grooved pavement is a pain but never tar snakes although they do seem to get slicker than the rest of the road in wet conditions

Also FYI, the tar in these snakes was thick enough to stub your toe on!
Was not just a thin coat of tar.

Nope, I live out in the country so that's just one of several things that I've learned to watch out for.

Never really felt them on my RGS but when I was riding my Hayabusa my rear tire would break loose for that split second all the Time. Maybe it has to do with the lean angle, speed, or weight distribution of me on the bike? Either way I'm used to them and don't panic or try to over steer/brake. I know a lot of guys who rode dirt bikes growing up like myself and that's a very familiar feeling.

I have had my front tire slide on them several times going through the twisties. It feels a little sketchy for a split second until the tire hits pavement.

I've had the front end get a little loose a time or two but I've never gone down.
