The Stench of Death
Anyone else live out in the country or drive through country roads? I don't remember seeing so many dead animals on the side of the road. It actually stinks. I've seen numerous dead raccoons, squirrels, possums and coyotes (dogs?). So far, no deer.

The only animal I'm really aware of is a skunk. You can't mistake that animal's smell for a anything but what it is.

Riding in a car with the AC on you wouldn't notice. But on a bike, in the hot weather, it's almost overpowering.

Around here if you smell skunk it is most likely a marijuana grow.

I live in very rural Texas and we have our share of road kill but there is no smell aside from driving or riding near a dead skunk.
Maybe we have very hungry buzzards and they "clean up the mess" quickly.

Had to ride past a meat processing plant on my way to work for quite a few years. That was thoroughly disgusting especially when it got hot.
