Default Cruise control would not cut off when hit rear brake

2016 ultra classic limited 350 miles. cruise control would not cut off when hit rear brake. Caused me to crash at 70 mph. Wonder I am alive. Does Harley have a recall or TSB for this. See a lot of people been having this problem.

First I have heard of it. The only problems I have seen have been with it not engaging so I am going to call bull **** on this one seeing that it is your first and only post on this forum.

Maybe not BS but it's possible that the rear brake switch is faulty which isn't uncommon.

Bigger question to me is why were you only using the rear brake? Why weren't you using the clutch? Both the clutch and front brake would also have cancelled the Cruise Control.

Hate that you went down, but did the clutch fail to disengage, rolling the throttle forward didn't shut cruise off and the kill switch all fail at the same time?

I can see rear brake switch not functioning but you still have full control of disengaging the cruise via using front brake and downshifting is the best way to slow down especially going at 70 MPH and rolling off the throttle grip.Crashing because cruise didn't cutoff seems like some one wasn't paying attention what's up ahead to avoid the incident.

OP, 350 miles on a 2016 says a lot.
Was this your first touring bike?
First big bike?

Maybe a lack of familiarity with the bike may have helped cause the crash?

I guess hitting the kill switch would have been too hard to do.
Seeing you don't have a thought process maybe you should turn in your DL

New member, first post, I smell troll....

If you in fact wrecked, it's not the bike's fault, it's yours. You have many methods to disengage the cruise. Plus pulling in the clutch disengages the engine from the transmission, so.... I call bullshit.
