Default Police Seat on Road King Classic ??

Hello everyone!

Been coming here for a while now, lots of great information from all of you guys. I was wondering about changing out the stock two person seat on my 2007 road king classic for a solo police-style. I see many on eBay for sale. Are they all the same? Do I need one specially for 2007 or will any new one work as well? Is this something that you guys think I could do at home or does it require some know-how or specialty shop tools ? Thanks in advance for any input, love the forum and happy to officially be a Harley owner!

They are not all the same but are similar. You need the complete hardware set for the seat you pick to adapt it to a civilian bike. 2007 will take just about any oem cop solo seat from 2000 on I believe.

2007 and older is the mounting hardware and plastic cover you need to look for. 2008 is a one year only (6 gal tank on the old frame) and 2009 and newer is for the newer frame. there are a few different material patterns but the seats are otherwise the same. They are quite comfy but you have to adjust to a more upright riding position. Some love it, some hate it.

I had one on my (sold) 2008 Ultra for a while.

Hey there fellas,

kojak, jm7480, AFMM3.... THANK YOU for the replies. I appreciate all the good info!! I figured there were already threads on this topic covered before but couldn't quite find the information I was looking for. So I apologize if this is beating a dead horse.

Cajun1957a I may take you up on that offer...once I figure out how to dm on the forum. Lol! I'm assuming the one you're selling will fit a 2007?

Thanks again guys and happy riding!
-Mike
