Default 18 Years and a Wake Up

This was a basketcase from back east that I bought 18 years ago. My original intent was to chop it until I realized that there was a lot of parts that were right for the year.

So began the quest to make it as close to stock as I could without breaking the bank.

1949 had some one-year only parts...still searching for the stainless air cleaner cover.

I know that the forum is primarily dedicated to new iron, but I thought I would share a couple of pics of the bike. (I have over 500 pics of the build as I went along.)

Hopefully the start up will be without serious mishap.

Panz thanks for the pics , nice ride. My opinion you did the right thing not choppin' it. just a suggestion , maybe you want to get in touch with someone like that guy Mike on American pickers or the guy down at the Wheels through time museum. Maybe I'm crazy , but maybe they can help you out with the air cleaner cover your in search of.
