Default Timing problem any suggestions?

I am getting knocking in the 1000 to 3500rpm 90 to 100 kpa I know I can retard my timing, but I think it is a lean fuel problem. If I add 5% to those cells in the VE's I think that would help in the knocking, any suggestions? The knock happens when I take off at full throttle and every time I full throttle I get a knock up through out the gears. I really do not want to mess with the VE's

Another idea I have was to decrease the afr chart in those cell right now they are at 90 kpa column is at 14.2 and the 100 column is at 12.8

Which engine do you have?

If you change the 90 kpa column to about 13.5 that should give you about 5% more fuel. A richer mixture tends to burn a little faster at about an AFR of around 12.5 to 13 air-fuel-ratio the mixture burns fastest. A leaner mixture than that burns slower. A richer than 12.5 mixture also burns slower.

The HD Super Tuner 1690 Stage 1 tune doesn't have much ignition timing at 90 and 100 kpa, it goes from about 2 degrees at 750 rpm to 7 degrees at 2000 rpms on the front, 0 degrees at 750 to 6 at 2000 rpms on the rear.

You think that is strange the first tune that Harley provided at 90 and 100 kpa it goes from -4 at 750 rpm to 0 at 2000 and the same for the rear. When Harley upgrade my tuning program that is run on my laptop the program stop me from flashing my ecm with my old tune they want me to use a new tune. Thanks for the info very helpful.
