Default Are you bothered by the primary protrusion on the 2018's?

I sat on a 2018 Fatboy a while back and absolutely loved it. But there was a slight annoyance with the way the primary pushed out on my left ankle.

Don't get me wrong; I wouldn't turn down the bike for this reason alone. I've been told that it was to accommodate the really fat rear tire, which pushes the belt out.

Any of you bothered by this?

I think it’s only on the wide tire bikes like the Fat Boy and Breakout but I am not certain of this.

Last year, the touring guys never mentioned it, then again, that primary currently is and always has been different than a Softail.

I was thinking the same when I saw the bike for first time, now that I own one, no issues. I have long legs making my stance wide at stops so I never feel it pushing against me.
Aesthetics wise,I always thought Harley's primaries stuck out like sore thumb on all their bikes, but more so evident on the little Sportsters and big back tire bikes.
Since the Fat Boy is big and muscular to me the primary looks right at home.

I doesn't bother me in the least, and has already been posted, it looks at home on the FatBoy. From what I understand, you are correct in your comments about the fat tire and the belt requiring this primary and it makes sense.

The Heritage has the slimmer primary due to the slimmer rear wheel/tire.

I don't mind the looks, but my left leg brushes against it on occasion and I most definitely have noticed it as it gets pretty hot. The life of a short guy, what can you do?

My ‘18 Breakout has the wide back tire and I’ve never thought about it. I am tall, if that matters.
