I have experienced constant harassment by drunk old neighbour...who is so ridiculously annoying, comes drunk in the middle of the street and started yelling

It was a big problem....so now I have to drive pass his house with almost no gas....

Another problem was a ****ing Albanian coffee shop owner...where I drove pass once per week!!! and he came out with 2 other people and started harassing me.....one of the guys had a baseball bat.....

Is this normal.....tell me your stories...and what to do here.....beat them up or what?

In Wisconsin, home of Harley, nobody bothers you about a loud Harley, if you're not obnoxious. You would have to be pretty inconsiderate, before anybody would complain.

 

Where I live, I've never had any issues about how loud my bike is but then again, I use what seems to be a rare commodity in this day and age, it's called common sense which tells me when and where is a bad time to cause a problem with my neighbors. In other words, I don't bother them and they don't bother me.

 

If someone approaches me and they are angry and swinging a baseball bat what would I do? Pull out my pistol and ask them to put the bat down.

At least that’s what I would do.

I have never been harassed by anyone about my bike being too loud. However one time about a year ago an older man told his son, and his son told a friend of mine, and my friend told me that the old man said "I wish he'd put some mufflers on that damn thing!" Well that is just what I did, I put stock 2015 mufflers on my bike, but not because of what that old man said, but because the noise was interfering with my enjoyment of riding.

 

Since I don't live in Germany, I can't tell you if that is normal behavior. Here in the US it is very unusual. Does it happen here that neighbors get pissed over loud pipes? Of course, but very infrequently.

Most of us will try to be as courteous as possible knowing our pipes are loud by letting the bike idle for a minimal time after starting it and not blipping the throttle or revving the engine until we are a good distance away.

 

This is my UK experience.

About 8 years ago I had a near neighbour come around and complain to me, he was gobby and telling me my bike was illegal and he was going to report me.

Had he made a civil approach I may have reacted differently, but I just fronted him up and told him to **** off, to this day I make sure I always give it a handful every time I ride past his house, childish I know

But I am the same guy that will coast past a neighbours house as I know he works shifts.

Other than the above never had a problem and I have always had modified exhaust on sports bikes and HD's.
