Default Looking for a bike that can handle 700 lbs of riders and gear

So I'm looking into buying a Harley in the near future but I need something that can handle 600-700 lbs of riders and gear for the occasions when the wife wants to join me. Any recommendations? I test rode the road King and fat boy and enjoyed them both but I don't know if they will handle the weight.

Not sure what the GVWR is on the ‘18s but combined passenger and cargo weight has usually run around 500 lbs or so. Running 700 would be pushing it, I think. The newer bikes may have a higher rating but I don’t think it’d be that much more.

As a minimum you’d probably need to look at upgrading tires and suspension, and even then I’d have concerns.

How much do the riders weigh here? You may have to go on a diet to fit into the GVWR.

Trike status... or at least a touring chassis with improved shocks and dare I say a car tire under the back... that's what can realistically handle the weight.

I see sportsters running around with that kind of load around here.

I have a buddy that sometimes rides with us on a stock electra glide. He weighs around 450 she is 200 give or take. They load it down with gear and go anywhere. Other than wearing out a couple seats they haven't had any trouble at all.

First post from a brand new member and this is what we get? Half of me is thinking this guy is playing with us. The other half is saying wait to see if we get a post 2 or better yet 3 before passing judgement.

Thread starter, we get a lot of folks making one post appearances around here that only accomplish stirring up stereotypical crap.

700 pounds thats a lot of stuff i too believe 500 is the max. You would need a 3 wheeler or maybe a trailer to pull behind you thats pushing the max. Good Luck

Thailand has motorcycles that can handle that load.

Listen to the second half. Would you want to be judged on who you are and your intentions based on the first time you ask a question? Give the guy a break. Not every first timer is a troll.

This is the sort of response that kills someone making 2nd or 3rd posts.

I'm not tryna be the forum police, but damn dude.
