Default Milwaukee Eight 107 cam testing

For those interested we are going to be doing back to back testing with an assortment of bolt in cams on a 107" Milwaukee Eight motor. The testing will be done on a stock 107 M8 air cooled bike equipped with what we are considering average, good performing, readily available components. We will be using Screamin Eagle Stage 1 air cleaner with stock cover, S&S MK45 mufflers, Jackpot M8 2/1/2 head pipe, and each combination will get a comprehensive dyno tune with Dynojet Power Vision. Each evaluation will be done in the same gear at the same engine temp. We are going to try to do this over 2 days, we are scheduling this for the last week of January.

The cams we are testing are as follows:

Cycle-Rama 460
Redshift 468
Wood WM8-22X
S&S 475C
Andrews M460

Multiple dyno sheets show higher numbers on the CR460 (consistently) than what Jamie posted.

Jamie..let’s see the run files. We will set this to rest once and for all

I've seen your posts and to be honest i'm not exactly sure of a good way to respond and yet still keep the spirit of this thread positive. FM has participated on HDF and other social media sites for over a decade, it's not that hard to draw conclusions when you read into certain types of statements or behavior.

We have posted multiple data set's for this cam on different bikes & displacements, and also included this cam in our cam test which was fully documented. I really feel it's ironic that you are asking for more data from FM when the conclusion you are drawing is based on your own conjecture; rather than your own bike, testing, or experience. Their lies the problem, because you don't have any of these components there is little I can do to help you (or your opinion). I cant review at your dyno charts, look at your tune & log files, cant have you check the compression to make sure the cam is installed properly, etc.. I cant offer any path to resolution.

You've also asked me to post the raw dyno run files from our cam testing, noting it will "set this to rest once and for all", while I am not going to post raw files from our dyno publicly (I have never seen anyone in our industry do this; ever), if reviewing the raw data is that important to you I can set up a time and we can discuss it by phone and if you are at a PC I can start a Teamviewer session and log you in remotely. We can go over the runfiles together and you can graph them however you like. I'm not however sure what you are looking for as these are the exact files the runs posted were derived from; the conditions, correction factor, and multipler are right on the charts. Again; with your fake dyno run comment I can only assume your intentions.

In the end I truly hope you find the cam you are looking for, whether you refer to the data we post or otherwise. If I can be of additional assistance all channels are open.

It would be interesting to do a configuration on what HD would consider EPA compliant:
HD Screaming Eagle highboutout headers, with Street Canon Slip ons
HD Torque Cams
SE Open AC
SE Street Tuner...

Then we can decide if the improvement to a non EPA compliant configuration is worth voiding the warranty.

Great idea, and thanks for offering the effort. Time is $, so- can we see, say, 1500-6000 RPM sweep in 6th gear, feet on floor boards, hands on grips, to emulate real world, cam change+tune results?

If Jamie were to stay within EPA compliance.. he could only really test the HD cams.

Thanks to Fuel Moto for doing this! It’s going to put a lot of questions and opinions to rest once and for all.

Question on the MK45’s...will you do testing with the reducer both in and out to show the effect of each cam on low end torque perhaps?

Awesome. Thanks Fuelmoto. Hopefully RS468 does well because I just ordered one.

I meant do it in addition to the other configurations!
