Default How to remove screen insert on 103 air cleaner

I bought this stock 103 black AC cover to replace the chrome one on my 16 RGU and it doesn't come with the screen insert so I have to remove it from the chrome one. Now I know this might seen like a silly question to some seasoned wrenchers, but I can't figure out how to get the screen insert out. There's a notch to stick a flat blade in there and it will lift a bit but not much. Being that this is a platic piece I don't want to start prying and applying force. I'm afraid I'll break it or cause some cosmetic damage. Has anyone removed this piece before? I've included some pics for reference.

I think if you use a screw driver with tape on the end to protect the chrome you can pop it off at the little cut outs I see in your picture.

You have it off, look for tabs on the inside.

Thanks for the input guys. I did get it off and switched over. I finally gave up on the babying it approach, as it was getting me nowhere, and pryed on it till it was either going to come apart or break. Luckily, the former happened.

Accomplished picture below.

Figured it wasn't a big deal, The people that assemble this crap aren't the sharpest tools in the drawer.

I'm about to do this also.... Is that 103 badge glued on for these with the pass-thru screw access?

Thanks

Yes. Permanent double sided tape. The kind with the screw hole have a velcro type attachment. Like what holds your toll booth pass on your windshield.

Correct.

You can get it off, but it will almost certainly destroy the stock badge. Which may not be a big deal.
