Default Latest iteration of Harley Compensator

How is the last iteration of Harley's Compensator doing? Mine has been banging for a few years now and I've held off for a better replacement than what has been offered from HD in the past. Anybody?

The compensator in my 2009 Ultra wasn't worth a crap. I had a 2014 SGS and now a 2016 RGS. 55,000 miles between them with no issues.

I had the SE Compensator of about 2015 vintage. Went belly up about 5,000 miles. I put on a Baker Compensator, and 15,000 miles later it’s going strong.

Had a SE Comp put in my 07 FXD and it worked out great, no noise, my 07 Ultra has the SE and no issues. I have heard really good things about the Baker and if I had to replace again, probably go with it. I think in 13 or 14 Harley started using the SE in all bikes.

I have it in my 08 Ultra. Been a year and 10,000 miles with no issues. Don't wait too long, I did and instead of my indy doing it for $600, I was on a trip and it went out and cost me $1300

Wow! Dang...I hope they used Vaseline on you.

I’ve never heard of a Compensator flat out failing. They get noisy, and can make a racket starting out...but don’t think they can flat out fail.

None the less...if it’s rsttling, bestbto have it replaced before going on a trip.
