Do you put one foot down or two? Some people use both and stop only with the front brake, some use both brakes and just put the left foot down.

 

I think you question is too simplistic. I do both depending on conditions. Facing uphill or down, how steep the grade, road surface, passenger or not, size of passenger/ load all go into determining how I stop. And at this point it's all done pretty much unconsciously.

 

You need one more listing in there. Both A & B. Sometimes I will put one foot down & sometimes two. Sometimes none at all, depends on how long I have to stop, wind & my general overall balance as I come up to a stop.

On a normal stop I go with

Both brakes -- stop -- left foot down -- right foot off brake and down , and the whole time looking straight ahead or it won't matter where your feet are

AS others have said -- it depends , normal might be only 50% of the time

 

 

The LEO's are taught to put the left foot down only, while in 1st gear with the right foot activating the brake lamp.

I sometimes stop and leave BOTH feet on the pegs, just to screw with them...LOL.

 

Two feet down always. Usually 2 up and I like to be stable.

The exception is when we are on a steep incline and I have to put the right foot on the rear brake peddle so I can start throttling up to get moving without rolling backwards.

If I had a lighter bike and riding solo one foot would be fine.

 

One foot down. Other other on rear brake to let traffic know I'm stopped. Unless I'm in right track when riding with someone else then it's right foot down and front brake on. LEO trained. Clean foot Dirty foot rule. Never want your foot down in the grease catch centre of a lane especially when roads are wet. Bike always in gear with clutch in so you can escape when a texting soccer Mom tries to run you down.

 

Generally speaking, two feet down at stop. Bike in gear and right-hand on the brake.
