Default Engine Dying Issue

I have a 2008 Softail Custom (FXSTC) Only has 10,000 miles on it. I do regular maintenence on it and keep it up to par. But I have been battling an issue lately (For about a year). This doesnt happen all the time and it only happens when it is ran for a while and hot. So I come up to a stop sign or light and down shift her into 1st like most do. When im starting to come to the stop maybe 5mph or less and in 1st gear the engine decides to kind of spit or sputter a tiny bit and then it just shuts down. When i turn the key off and turn it back on it starts up just fine and runs great. The issue only happens like I said when its hot and rolling to a stop. Maybe a fuel issue? Ive read similar issues from people about TPS or Speed sensor. Although the issues they explain are there speedometer cutting out or going whacky, mine doesnt do that its as if it starts to idle to low and then just cuts out. Any ideas on what it may be would be helpful. Thanks.

Crank Position sensor is another one to check.

Pretty good thread on people having similar issues. I would be inclined to clean the throttle body and check the IAC for operation.

The above 2 posts could be what's wrong, but I was wondering something...Have you tried shifting into neutral before coming to a stop, instead of holding the clutch in 1st?

It can't hurt to clean the IAC. If it's sticking that might be all you need to do.

Clean the IAC and see what happens.......my 07 does that occasionally.........clean the IAC and it's all good........oil mist from motor tends to clog it up a bit........I use brake cleaner cause it evaporates pretty good.....make it part of your maintenance and it will never be a problem

When cleaning the IAC orifice, cycle the ignition on/ off a few times with a few seconds between each cycle.
