Anyone put 12" - 14" T bars on a 14-17 FXDF???
I hate asking to have information spoon fed to me, but I've been searching for a clear answer for months, only finding half answers or guys who cut corners to make it work. I'm looking to put a set of 12" Lucky Daves San Diego bars on my 2016 Fat Bob. I'm wondering what length cables I need to do this properly. I'm willing to just use OEM Street Bob cables, but I can't find where to buy these online, they don't appear to be on the HD website. If anyone can help me find exactly what to order, that would be a huge help. I realize late model Fat Bobs weren't the most popular model Dyna the last few years, but there must be someone out there that's either done this, or knows what I need that can point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

You can buy fxdb cables on eBay either used or stock length from an aftermarket supplier such as drag specialties. That’s what I used for my old sb. I haven’t put t bars on any of my bikes as I prefer apes, but I’m pretty sure the fat bob has the same stock setup as the lowrider s. If you don’t have abs that will make it simpler. Assuming the fb and lrs are the same, there’s a few guys on her who put t bars on their lrs. I THINK “thepaintpirate” is one who went with 14s so try searching his threads. Only thing I know for sure is that there’s plenty of wiring so no need to worry about that. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the response. I assumed that OEM cables might save me some money, rather than going aftermarket. But that doesn't seem to be the case here as you can't simply buy OEM cables from what I can tell. I'll check out Ebay and the aftermarket for some cables, hopefully I can find a good deal on a set.

Sorry, I thought I already said I was installing 16 inch apes, but I posted in another thread about bars so it must have been that one. Since t bars aren’t generally as wide as the apes I have, you shouldn’t need that much. However I’d still highly suggest mount and measure before you order.

I just put 14" San Diego bars on my FXDF a couple weeks ago. I used the Magnum Shielding 12-14" cable kit. All of the cables were too long, but I made it work. I didn't take the time to measure out first, and just assumed (poorly) that Magnum Shielding had their measurements right. Take the time with some 1/4' fuel line or like item and measure the distances you want or need after you put the bars on. It will take longer to complete, but in my opinion it will be well worth it.
