Default Smoked a dog today

Heading out to lunch with my wife and a dog ran right out in front of us. About 45 lbs killed it instantly, my wife was pretty upset but told her wasn't anything we could do, just be glad we stayed shiny side up. Got me thinking what else has everyone hit, I almost tagged a couple hogs when I lived in Texas and know a guy who hit a dead deer in the road and ate pavement.

Almost hit an alligator crossing Tamiami Trail a few years back and came very close to striking a wild boar on US27 last year.
A bird got me right in the face one time. That sucked!
Luckily I was wearing a full face.

Edit: Had lightning strike right in front of me about 5 years ago.

Is that a good ride? Planning a trip to Key West (from Savannah area) and thinking about cutting over to Tampa and down 41 instead of just shooting down 95.

Did you find the owner and why wasn't it under control or on a leash?
Horriifying experience but don't blame yourself.
Animal control should also respond in these cases.

Great ride! I would avoid 95 at all costs. Both Tamiami Trail and US 27 are great roads. Beware of riding them after the sun goes down. The bugs are unbelievable.

Hit a woodchuck with the right footpeg and had a turkey fly into my clutch handle while doing 55 mph, that hurt for about 4 weeks, bent the clutch handle into my hand on the grip.

Oh man.......!
I remember about 5 years ago....... And it still haunts me.
There are a handful of my brothers who remember this.
A large group of us were riding in a pack. A little dog ( puppy?) ran out into the middle of our pack. One of our guys hit the little guy, and the front of the pack knew nothing of it. Me.... And others wanted to stop.... No, REALLY, WE DID.....but the pack had NO IDEA what just happened. So yeah, the poor little dog haunts me.... As well as the vision of the owner chasing out to the road trying to save his little buddy. This is the **** that haunts us. For realz!
