Softail Value???
I have the opportunity to purchase a one owner, low mileage (1,400 orig mi) , stock 2002 Softail Standard. Bike has been garage kept its whole life ... but not run in many years because owner had been sick for many years.
Its carbureted and and in great shape... just needs cleaning, new fluids, carb cleaned , the usual...
Do u think $3500 is a fair price for this bike?

Depending on your abilities it could be a good deal.
If you have to take it to the dealer to have work done flip a quarter.
A friend picked up a softail about a month a ago.
He paid about the same money the owner put into making it road worthy (tires, leaking seals, fluids, filters...).
The market is soft in most places, if you do your own work you should come out fine.

The leaks you could possibility get are not hard to fix just a little time consuming, if you are not afraid of your tools and your bike you should be good.
On the tires do you take the wheels down or the bike?
Save yourself some money and take the wheels down, also check locally for a private person to do the tires for you.
We have a local guy that does them for (last year anyway) $30 a tire (mount and balance).
