Default 2018 Fat Bob derby cover gasket

I picked up a new derby cover for my 2018 fat bob 114, I noticed that the new cover does not have the groove for the rubber seal like the OEM one has. Is this normal or did I get the wrong cover? Otherwise it fits fine.

Thanks!

You're going to need the paper gasket style. Can get one from the counter at about any Dealer or online if you know the part number.

willie g black skull, installed today with a new gasket. Seems odd that the designer derby covers don’t use the same rubber seal, looks like it would seal better.

some do and some don't...the ones I've had in the past used the replacement 'frisbees' but the Airflow series one for my M8 uses the OEM rubber ring seal

I recently bought an OEM Brass Collection derby cover for my ‘17 Slim. It has the groove for the rubber O-ring, but the install instructions say to use the paper kind. Go figure.

HD hasn't a clue from the top down. My Live to Ride Chrome and Gold as the groove for the new style seal and the instructions said to use the paper gasket.
