Default Florida Keys

Sitting around the bar on a Friday night, bitching about the weather changing here in Chicago and wishing for some more 80° days ... I said "**** it. Lets just fly to the Keys, rent some bikes, and spend a week riding around in good weather!" ... and by Sunday Bikes, Flights & condo were booked.

So, for anyone who has been riding down in the Keys, any recommendations? Where to ride seems limited I suppose. Places to stop? Things to see? Good food? Good Bars? We're staying on Duck Key.

I am not sure how badly the Florida Keys were affected by the hurricane. You might want to check into that.

The Keys are my stomping ground. Where are you flying into?
Avoid US1 if possible and take Old Card Sound Rd if you can. You'll love it.
Stop at Alabama Jacks and have the conch fritters.

I'll give you a few more tips when I hear back from ya.

You hit the nail on the head when you said kind of limited. If you've never been there it's a great place to be and a unique part of the U.S. If you're going to be there for a whole week take a ride to Everglades National Park. Is it just the keys you're asking about? Have you ever been to South Florida?

The resort where I'm staying was destroyed and just re-opened in August. Looks all good and mostly we'll just be crashing there. The rest of our time is all about the bikes!
