new bike, heads keep coming loose
I keep getting tapping noise right before each oil change... at 5k I brought it in and they said my heads had loosened up and that tightening them back down had stopped the noise... fast forward to 10k same thing, 15k same thing and it has been sitting since... Is this a normal thing? they tried to feed me a bunch of bullshit in my own opinion with their excuse... They keep trying to tell me it's because I am not getting my service done each change which in my eyes is effing ridiculous to do every oil change when it's 200-400 for the actual by the book service... I do get the service done though every oil change but at 15k I decided not to... I had a buddy that road with me all year round last year and he never brings his in for service like that and his heads never come loose, what gives? Should I bring it in and tell them if it happens again I will be contacting corporate or filing lawsuit if they do not rectify why it keeps happening? It is specifically only my rear head I believe... I'll get the noise then I see oil seeping from the bolt right there on the cover...

Oh sorry about that.... Every where else I have it auto posted at the bottom of my comments... 2015 Dyna Fatbob.... 103 engine... I don't think it is a common thing to be honest, I did diesel for 11 years and something like that is only heard in that field when there is a problem with the the thread holes or head studs or the fact they didn't get torqued properly... if they are doing engine work without the torque wrenches and I find out, it is ultimately going to **** me off...

Exactly what I figured... I think it was either them or the other dealership that I took it to that possibly screwed up the threads on it... either way when it goes in friday I will make it a solid point that they need to actually fix it this time and if they come loose again I will be calling corporate or filing against the lemon laws if need be... I am actually still under warranty till 2019 as well so hopefully they will fix it...

That ^
And make sure they replace the head bolts with new ones - they do stretch..., and/ or - they may have rust on / round the thread - that would prevent them from tightening to proper torque specs / show improper torque spec when tightened
May also need to chase the threads to ensure no rust

What they all said...but
something feels lost in translation here, cause loose head bolts and or loose rocker boxes are two very different things. I have seen rocker boxes all the time, never seen loose head bolts unless the gasket was toast which was easy to spot..you know poor running, low compression, actual air coming out....
my my guess is rocker boxes and they should have taken care of them from the start by removing them, cleaning them and reinstall with new gaskets etc.
