Smile Road King most versatile Harley ever?

Daydreaming, as I look out the window (and it's snowing to beat the band here atm)....and got to wondering. And this is based on very little empirical data or real world experience, but is the Road King the most versatile Harley ever?

Versatile being "not too small", "not too large", windshield/no windshield...2 seats/1 seat....tour pack/no tour pack....removable fairing/no fairing etc. (I've done all these changes over my 2 summers of ownership.

I only have 2 summers on my 'King and have NEVER ridden another Harley. Before last spring, I hadn't been on a bike in 35 or so years, so like I say....just what I've read here...wondered out loud and whatnot. I'm def a newb.

Not looking to start a fight...I'm not saying it is.....I am asking the question......and was just interested in whether you agree and if not, why/whynot.

Maybe the Heritage or a bagged Sporty is for all I know.

Thanks guys and gals !

Road King is an awesome bike & if I wasn't partial to the Heritage id own one! versatility is all in ones wants or needs I guess, I would say that the RK & Heritage are probably 2 of the best "all around" bikes HD makes - however that's just my opinion.

I've been keeping my eyes open for a mid 2000s softail springer classic as a good candidate for all around bike. Great looks, big twin, decent enough handling for a cruiser.

Everyone I find wants way too much for them though.

OM Goodness You mean that Harley makes other bikes,,, LOL Yeah the Road King is the only street bike for me, and has been since 2007. I want a n 883 sportster for getting out on the dirt county roads on but that is still in the future. The road king can be dressed up or stripped down.

I like to keep things simple.

Dang, the two nicest motorcycles Harley has ever produced, together in one simple thread. The Road King and the Heritage Springer. True things of beauty.

If I had to have just one bike it would be the Road King.

Road King gets my vote but I'm a little biased. I have owned harleys of all types but the King has probably been my favorite.

There's versatile and then there's versatile. I love my 'King, but no bike does it all, sometimes I just feel the Need for Speed...

So I got a couple of these, too.
