Default Suspected torque error in FSM

Just bought a 2019 Road Glide. Installed 13 inch shocks on the rear to replace the 12 inchers.....the 2019 service manual calls out a torque of 63-70 Ft pounds for the attachment bolts. If I recall correctly the torque for these bolts on my 2009 was 35-40 Ft lb. It's the same P/N bolts on the 2019 as the 2009. So I'm thinking this torque value is too high. So I split the difference and torqued them to 50 Ft lbs.
Now I'm wondering how many other mistakes are in the freaking manual.....geez eh....

No magic involved, it probably will not fall out of the air.

Or maybe the 2009 values were wrong.

IMHO 35 ft-lbs seems low for shock mount bolts.

How do you know it's an error and not just an updated torque spec? These are two completely different bikes.

Agree they're different bikes BUT the P/N of the subject bolt is the same (3607), so why the torque increase?

The torque spec is what is required for the application, not the bolt.

Hmmm I need to check SM that just arrived last week. Think I only tightened mine to 40.
