Default Repairing tank damage

Found a bike that looks interesting, but it has some damage. Haven't spoken to the owner yet. What are my options to have this repaired? What is it worth in cost to repair? Can I send the tank off to someone, or am I limited to local shops?

This is all I know about it ...

I wouldn't even bother trying to fix that. I'd just ride it like a stole it!

I think the 2009 FXDC is his current ride. And the bike in the pic isn't an FXDC. Pay attention

Yep; I'm shopping ...

I'm thinking that if I spend this kind of coin on a bike, I don't want to look at damage. What should I figure to have this repaired?

I had a Dyna tank fixed at a paint shop. it cost about 600 bucks back in 2015. The main thing was paint matching, and the guy I used was good. H-D locks up their paint codes, they aren't readily available to paint shops. Buy the pic looks like , at most a repaint and a set of emblems. I still think under a grand depending on where you are in the world...

IMO get him/her to knock off a G note. Any custom paint shop can get the PPG paint for that. My shop in Syracuse matched that same HD paint. Just make sure to get a good clear coat that doesn’t scratch easily.

Could it just be touched up and buffed? Not that bad.
