Here we go again.....Shocks
I know, I know......another shock thread. I couldn't find my answer in the 1000's of shock threads. My question is pretty simple.
I love my 2018 Road Glide, but I feel every crack & bump in the road. I'm not looking for extreme cornering performance, just a smooth ride. I had a 2013 Ultra Classic and I replaced the air shocks with the HD Premium shocks and the front with Progressive Mono Tubes. I felt hardly any difference in smoothness and spent a lot of money for nothing. I did read that the pre Rushmore touring was a rough ride, though. I don't mind the investment cost if it will do what I want.
I ride 75% of the time solo and 25% 2up. I'm 190lbs and my wife's 135lbs. I care about handling, but I don't push the envelope hard enough for it to be a big issue.
Any advise would be appreciated.

I hear these complaints all the time but the PO installed ultra shocks on my 09 ultra classic & I have no complaints. Either 440 or 944, I'd hafta look up the receipts. I'm about 220 & the wife is over 150 & even loaded down I only remember bottoming out once. The front forks are a different story, I'd like to do something about them but the rear shocks are great.

I think another member said it best...,shock threads have become like oil threads. Plenty of opinions and plenty of threads to search for information on this subject
if you have 12” shocks..,consider going to 13”...you’ll be amazed at the difference
emulsion to emulsion shocks, Pro Action for the warranty and ease of adjustment as well as the superior ride quality.
separated shocks, Ohlins is the only game in town for separated shocks.
Good luck, and I prefer Schaefer’s oil by the way
